All three major shipping carriers, USPS, UPS, and FedEx are in the process of migrating customers to a new, more secure, API that uses O Authentication to ensure your shipping account cannot be used by unauthorized users. All carriers are in the process of expiring the older insecure API integrations.
UPS announced that customers should begin migrating on 6/5/2023 with a final deadline of 6/3/2024. In this release, AbleCommerce includes a new plugin for UPS with OAuth and migration to the new version can start anytime after upgrading.
FedEx also announced that they will be retiring FedEx Web Services on May 15th, 2024. A new FedEx with OAuth plugin is available as a separate download. It can only be requested through your order and delivered to customers with a valid subscription.
USPS has made a vague announcement
about moving to the secure OAuth version of their latest shipping API.
Unfortunately, the API is not ready for production so the new plugin we
are developing for USPS is awaiting updates and final testing. Once it
is ready for final release, we will notify customers via the forums and
software newsletter.
