Shopping.com

Shopping.com is a paid service that helps you to promote your products at Shopping.com. Your detailed product descriptions, submitted in a feed, are matched to Shopping.com's easy to navigate category structure. Shopping.com uses a smart algorithm system that will dynamically calculate your click charges based on the overall performance of each publisher’s overall traffic performance.

To participate, you must have a Shopping.com live and funded merchant account. For more information, go to Shopping.com Merchant Account Center .

Select a Data Feed Method

Follow these steps to select your data feed method. This only needs to be completed once.

Go to Shopping.Com Merchant Account Center and create an account or login.
From the top menu, click the "CPC Program" link or the "List your products" button.
You will need to select a method to upload and list your products.
AbleCommerce supports the "AUTO Upload" with a feed file method. Select and save this method.

Add Feed File Settings

Create your FTP account at Shopping.com.

From the Shopping.com Merchant Account Center, go to CPC Program > Product Info.
Click on the "Add or update products" link to view the Automatically upload products with a URL or feed page.
1. Tell us about your feed file. Select I have a feed file only option.
2. Create your FTP account. When finished, you should have a username, password, and feed file location.
3. Step 3. Enter your file name: ShoppingComData.csv or ShoppingComData.csv.zip, if over 100 mb.
Save your settings and continue.

Confirm your Auto Feed File Settings

Confirm your feed file settings are correct.

From the Shopping.com Merchant Account Center, go to CPC Program > Product Info.
Click the Auto Feed File settings link.
Make sure the correct file name is listed in the File path/name field.
Make a note of your FTP username and password. You will need this information to upload your feed file.
The File Encoding should be set to "Automatically Detect".

Create and Upload your Shopping.Com Feed File

After you have selected your feed method through Shopping.com and setup an FTP account, you can create and upload the feed directly from AbleCommerce.

From the Product Feeds page, click the Shopping.com Feed link, or from the top-menu, go to Marketing > Feeds > Shopping.com Feed.
From the Shopping.com Feed page, you will see a variety of configuration options.
Enter a name for your Feed File Name. This is the name of the file that is created on the AbleCommerce server.
The default value is "ShoppingComFeedData.csv"
When you create multiple feeds, choose whether you want to Overwrite Existing Feed File each time a new feed is created. The default value is "Yes".
The Product Inclusion option allows you to select which products to include in the feed.
- Do not include products marked for feed exclusion
- All Products (ignore product feed settings)
  
  To exclude a product from the feed, you need to go to the Edit Product page, find the Display Options section, and check the box Exclude From Feeds.
Enter a name for your Compressed Feed File Name. AbleCommerce supports compressed files that have a .zip file extension. It is typically used for large sized feed files. Files larger than 100 MB must be zipped.
The default value is "ShoppingComFeedData.csv.zip" and will only be used if you select the option to create a compressed feed.
When you create multiple feeds, choose whether you want to Overwrite Existing Compressed Feed each time a new compressed feed is created. The default value is "Yes".
Enter the FTP Host name or IP Address. Shopping.com's FTP server is "ftp.shopping.com"
Enter the FTP User Name. This is your Shopping.com FTP username provided with your FTP account information. It is different than your merchant login.
Enter the FTP Password.
Shopping.com requires that the remote file be named "ShoppingComFeedData.csv".
Click the SAVE SETTINGS button before continuing.
Now, you will perform one of the Tasks available.
- Create Feed - this creates the feed file (.txt) on the AbleCommerce server.
- Compress Feed - this creates a compressed version of the feed file (.zip) on the AbleCommerce server.
- Upload Uncompressed Feed - this uploads the feed file (.txt) to Shopping.com.
- Upload Comressed Feed - this uploads the compressed version of the feed file (.zip) to Shopping.com.
- Create and Compress Feed - this creates and comresses the feed.
- Create and Upload Feed - this creates the feed file (.txt) and uploads it to Shopping.com.
- Create, Compress, and Upload Feed - this creates and compresses the feed (.zip) and uploads it to Shopping.com.
After making your selection, click the GO button.
If successful, you will be shown a SUCCESS message indicating the tasks completed. If you have trouble with the feed creation or uploading, then please review the next section.
If your account is funded, your products will usually list on the Shopping.com network within 24 hours.

Troubleshooting Feed Issues

To create a successful feed, make sure the ASPNET user account (Network Service/Asp.Net) has write and delete permission to the feed file folder which is located in \Admin\Marketing\Feeds\Data\ folder.
To upload a feed, make sure the FTP server, username, and password are correct.
The default TCP port for a FTP connection is port 21. Sometimes a local Internet Service Provider blocks this port and this will result in FTP connection issues.
Most FTP servers work in "passive" mode, since it makes it easier for you to upload a file, even when you are behind a firewall. To simplify the upload process, Yahoo!'s FTP server follows this standard and can only accept passive transfers.
Some hosting providers run their server in a medium trust environment. Unfortunately, the option to FTP upload a product feed will not work, but you can still manually upload the feed outside of AbleCommerce.

Required Attributes

Attributes define the characteristics or qualities of your Yahoo! products. Each attribute consists of a name and one or more values. The attributes that are required vary depending on the type of information you are sending. AbleCommerce sends the following required and recommended attributes for a Yahoo! product feed.

mpn	yes	Manufacturer Part No.: The part number associated with the manufacturer of the product.
manufacturer	yes	Manufacturer: This value is used if the product has a manufacturer listed.
product name	yes	Product Name: This is the text you enter for the Product Name.
product description	yes	Product Summary: The description attribute comes from the product's summary description. This is different than the product description.
price	yes	Product Price: This is the value you enter into the product price field.
stock	yes	Product Inventory: The value that you enter in the "In Stock" field will determine if shopping.com shows stock being available.
stock description	yes	By default, AbleCommerce sends the value of "new" for each product.
product url	yes	Product URL: This is the product link, or URL, that AbleCommerce generates.
image url	yes	Product Image: If a product image is available, AbleCommerce generates the link to the standard, full-size, image.
category	yes	Category: AbleCommerce sends the category and subcategory structure for the product. Shopping.com technicians will attempt to remap them to the correct product area. For best matching results, you can use Shopping.com categories found here: https://merchants.shopping.com/Taxonomy.html
shipping rate	yes	AbleCommerce software does not provide individual product shipping rates. If you want to use this option, you should manually edit the CSV file and upload to the shopping.com site after making changes.
