Use Google Analytics to learn which online marketing initiatives are cost effective and see how visitors actually interact with your site. Make informed site design improvements, drive targeted traffic, and increase your conversions and profits.

Finding your Google Urchin ID

You will need to access your tracking code to find your Google Urchin ID.

  1. Sign in to Google Analytics.

  2. From the Analytics Settings page, find the profile for which you would like to retrieve the tracking code. Please note that tracking code is profile specific.

  3. From that profile's Settings column, click the Edit link.

  4. In the top-right corner of the Main Website Profile Information section, click the (Check Status) link.

  5. Locate your Urchin ID within the Tracking Code. It is not necessary to copy the code as instructed by Google.  AbleCommerce includes a special footer that will automatically use your tracking code in all your store pages.

Implement Google Analytics Tracking

AbleCommerce includes the Google Analytics Widget, an object that can be used in the footer scriptlet which outputs your Google tracking code.  For Ecommerce tracking, all you have to do is select a special footer called "Footer With Google Analytics" and apply it to your receipt page.  This will make it possible to track sales, conversions, and profits.

Part One

Add the Google Analytics Widget to your page footer.  This is required for the Page Tracking feature.

  1. Go to Website > Content and Layout using the top menu.  This page will display all of your Scriptlets alphabetically.

  2. Scroll down until you find the Scriptlet named "Standard Footer".

  3. Click the EDIT icon.

  4. From the Edit Footer Scriptlet page, you will need to add the Google Analytics Widget object to the Content portion of your footer:

  5. You should add it below any existing code as shown in the example below.

You can stop here if you are only using the Page Tracking feature.  If you are using Ecommerce tracking, then complete Part Two below.
