Notification of AbleCommerce Version Realignment

In the past, AbleCommerce has been released at version intervals with no particular pattern. For example, we published version 5, then 5.2, then 5.5 with no better reason than it sounded right at the time.

Over the last few months, we have developed and refined our internal guidelines for version tracking. These guidelines will be applied to the AbleCommerce 7.0 line so that we can move the application forward in a measurable fashion. The chart below explains changes to version labels that will be applied for current supported releases. No build numbers will be affected by this realignment.

For AbleCommerce 7.0, the Service Release 3 patch will correct the version to 7.0.0
For AbleCommerce 7.1, the Service Release 1 patch will correct the version to 7.0.1
