FedEx Web Services Patch

Applies to: FedEx Web Services integration.

CRITICAL UPDATE.  

Effective May 31st, 2012, FedEx will discontinue their older API that integrates with AbleCommerce 7.

Install this patch to upgrade to the latest version of FedEx Web Services.

 


 

AbleCommerce versions 7.0.3 through 7.0.7

Download:  https://www.ablecommerce.com/patches/FedExWS_73_b14635.zip

Instructions:

  1. Extract the 2 new files to a temporary location on the server.

    - CommerceBuilder.FedExWS.dll
    - CommerceBuilder.FedExWS.XmlSerializers.dll

  2. Backup the same files that exist in your \Bin\ folder.

  3. Copy both of the new files to the \Bin\ folder of your AbleCommerce installation.

  4. Check to see if your installation contains the \Admin\Shipping\Providers\FedExWS\ folder and files.

  5. If it does not, then copy the contents of \Admin\Shipping\Providers\FedExWS\ from the patch to your installation.

  6. Recycle the application, or restart the web server.

  7. Complete the "After Patch Installation Instructions" below.

  1. Extract the 2 new files to a temporary location on the server.

    - CommerceBuilder.FedExWS.dll
    - CommerceBuilder.FedExWS.XmlSerializers.dll

  3. Copy both of the new files to the \Bin\ folder of your AbleCommerce installation.

  4. Copy the contents of \Admin\Shipping\Providers\FedExWS\ to your installation.

  5. Recycle the application, or restart the web server.

After Patch Installation Instructions

Required for All Versions

Configure FedEx Web Services:

  1. Login to your merchant administration.

  2. Go to Configure > Shipping > Integrated Carriers

  3. Choose Add Carrier

  4. From the list, select FedEx Web Services

  5. Complete the configuration of FedEx Web Services.

  6. Setup new shipping methods that use FedEx Web Services to replace the ones using the older FedEx Direct Connect gateway.

Resolved Issues with patch:

 

Fixed in patch build 14635, released on 6/26/2012:

- Shipping fails when a province has more than 2 characters (some international provinces only)

 

Fixed in patch build 14628 released on 5/31/12:

- International rates would not appear if state or province data was present

- Package breakup would result in incorrect rates

- Compatibility with all AC7x releases

 

Fixed in patch released on 5/3/12:

- International shipping rates were not appearing.

- Orders placed on Saturday were being charged Saturday pickup rates.

- Package weights were not being sent correctly if the total exceeded the maximum package weight.

 

Fixed in first FedEx patch released 1/27/12:

- The issued occurred when multiple quantities of the same item are purchased, the number of packages sent to FedEx is incorrect.  Applies to products using the "Ship Separately" calculation option.
