What you need to do before upgrading (do not skip this!)
Create a backup of your database.
Create a backup of all application files.
1) Download AbleCommerce upgrade file
A new feature in version 9 allows you to see all available upgrades for any installation. The download with its corresponding readme file will be shown if you are eligible for an upgrade. Follow the instructions below.
To obtain the download, login to the Merchant Menu for the AbleCommerce installation being upgraded.
Using the admin menu, go to Upgrades > Available Upgrades.
Find the upgrade for the final version. It will be labeled "AbleCommerce 9 RC3 to Final"
Download the .zip file to a temporary location, and extract the contents.
If you do not see the available download, make sure the current version is 9.0.0.5314 (RC3).
2) Upgrade Instructions
Return to the admin menu page Upgrades > Available Upgrades.
Click the Instructions button from the Action column.
Open the file and read the entire document through.
Complete the instructions for upgrading, making sure to complete any post-upgrade steps.
Special Note: This upgrade requires that any configurations for payment, shipping, and tax gateways be removed after upgrading. Make a note of your connection and configuration details before removing each one. Next, uninstall each installed plugin and recycle the application server. Then login and install the updated plugins as needed. Reconfigure each one using the saved information.
