Indexes

AbleCommerce creates and maintains an index of the database.  This helps improve performance when searching.  The indexes are automatically updated when a merchant makes changes through the administration.

Typically, it is not necessary to run the rebuild the index unless you are changing the data outside of AbleCommerce's administration.

This feature is not applicable when using SQL search provider.

 

 
 
 

Full Text Indexing

  1. From the top-menu, go to Website > Indexes.

  2. Find the Full Text Indexing section as shown below.

  3. If your page looks similar to the one above, then you are using the Lucene search provider.

    Note: Index maintenance is not necessary when you are using the SQL search provider, which is a setting on the Configure > Store > General page.

  4. The last line may show when the index was last rebuilt manually.  Click REBUILD INDEX if needed.
