Database Backup

This document explains how to create a database backup.  Depending on the size of your store's database, this can take considerable time and require significant server resources.  If you are sharing a server with other customers, then be considerate and wait until a time of day when it won't affect the server performance for other customers.

Creating a Database Backup

1. From the Data Exchange page, or from the top-menu, go to Data > Database Backup.
   
   

2. Click the BACKUP DATABASE button to begin.
   
   

3. Wait for the process to complete.
   
   

4. When finished, you can view your database backup as shown in the example below.
   
   

5. In the first column, the database file name is shown.  The second column shows the actual size (in KB) of the database.

6. In the last column, you can click the Download icon to copy the database to your local computer.  You can click the Delete icon to remove the file permanently.
   
   

   NOTE:

   After a backup, you can find your file in the \App_Data\DbBackup\ folder.
