FAQ: What is my Upgrade Path?This document will give you the information necessary to determine which upgrade options you have available, and the steps that need to be taken to complete the upgrade. You will need to know which version you are upgrading FROM and which version you are upgrading TO. Upgrades to full versions are free when you have an active subscription. Subscription Holders: As a subscription holder, you may upgrade to any full version release while your subscription is still active. A full version release includes all bug fixes and features. You must have a valid license key to upgrade. If you had purchased a pre-release version of AbleCommerce, such as a beta or release candidate, your subscription end date should be on 6/24/09. This is exactly one year from the date of final release. If you believe there is a problem with your subscription end date, login to your customer account and request a new key. Non-Subscription Holders: If you chose not to purchase a subscription, you will still receive free service release patches. These are small patches that will correct any major software defects that prevent use of a major feature and that have no work-around. It also includes any critical security patches that make the software vulnerable. If you have purchased a full version of AbleCommerce 7 without a subscription, and would like to upgrade, you can purchase the AbleCommerce Incremental Store Upgrade product. If you have recently purchased a full version of AbleCommerce 7 without a subscription, and are within the 30-day grace period, you may be entitled to a free upgrade to the latest version. Just make a request through your order, and we'll distribute the upgrade files and a special license key.
